Lately I’ve been seeing SOO many “Pro-Life” posts on facebook and it’s seriously starting to irritate me. First off, since when do people think it’s okay to tell someone what to do with any aspect of their life? It’s their fucking choice & you know damn well if someone wants to do something and has made up their mind on such a life changing decision such as getting an abortion they’re gonna fucking follow through with it. Now would you rather them safely go to an abortion center where it can be done in a controlled environment or would you rather them go grab a wire hanger and do it themselves?
Aside from that, lets say it is illegal to get an abortion, do you have any idea how fucking overflowed our foster care system would be?? Being adopted I was graced with not having to go through foster care but damn, I hear horror stories about that shit. Being tossed from family to family isn’t a great life. Being raped or mistreated in foster care because people can make a buck off it isn’t a great life either.People think it’s “soo wrong not to give them life” but don’t take a minute to think about what kind of life they may end up with.
Do you have any idea how many people go through the foster care system and never get adopted? Once they’re 18 the foster care system kicks them to the curb. They’re pushed out into a world that they most likely aren’t fully prepared for. Alone and struggling. Think of what kind of life that leads to. If you’re out on your own and need money to survive yet don’t have the skills to acquire a job, what do a lot of people end up turning to? Drugs and the gang life and everyone knows the “street” or “gang life” often is a quick ticket to either death or a life full of going in and out of the jail system.
No, I don’t support people being careless and thinking abortion their “get out jail free” card but I think every situation is unique and needs to be addressed as so. I don’t believe theres a “one size fits all” rule when it comes to abortion. The option should be available.
Feel free to enlighten me though, I’m always down to hear an opposing view.
